Winners of the 2021 Granite State Blues Challenge, Band Division, Ms Vee & a Badass Band is lead by 2020 International Blues Challenge Semifinalist, musician and singer, Ms Vee and backed by accomplished New Hampshire & Massachusetts based musicians, Alec Derian (Music Director/Bass), JL Claybourne (Drums), Pat Herlehy (Lead Guitar/Saxophone), Chris Noyes (Rhythm Guitar), and Jay Frigoletto (Keyboard/Organ). They give New England, and the world, a reminder of Blues-Soul’s sound and place in history. Under the direction of Alec Derian, they bring a focus to blues soul’s Mississippi Delta/Arkansas Blues sound, honoring the likes of Bobby Rush, Johnnie Taylor, Marvin Sease, & more by marrying soul, funk, and rhythm & blues to create the Blues-Soul Sound of Original Badass Music. As winners of the Grankte State Blues Challenge, the band will represent the State of New Hampshire at the 2022 International Blues Challenge in Memphis, TN.

Jerry Dugger is an award winning veteran of the New York City Blues community.

He’s recently relocated to Bennington New Hampshire and has anchored his life there.

His bass baritone voice and musicianship has taken him across America and Europe for the past forty years.

He has an extensive repertoire of original compositions, acoustic blues, singer songwriter covers, and classic New Orleans hits at his disposal, all suited for great listening and dancing.

As a songwriter he writes from his life, and from the heart, sharing his personal experiences, triumphs and heartbreaks, he embodies the Blues.
