Event Details

This year Friends of Portsmouth Harbor Lighthouses is doing two Sunset Lighthouses Cruises in June.

The cruises on June 16 and 23, 2023, will start at 7:00 p.m. and will return at approximately 9:30 p.m. They will be aboard Granite State Whale Watch's vessel, the M/V Granite State, departing from Rye Harbor on Route 1A in Rye, NH. Rye Harbor State Marina is on Route 1A in Rye, New Hampshire.

The cruises will pass close to Portsmouth Harbor Lighthouse, Whaleback Lighthouse, and White Island Lighthouse in the Isles of Shoals. They will be narrated by lighthouse historian/author Jeremy D’Entremont and there will be a raffle with great prizes. There is a snack bar on board the vessel.

After you reserve space(s) on a cruise, we ask that you plan to arrive 15 minutes before the start of the cruise. There is a large parking lot at the Rye Harbor State Marina, and the State of NH charges a $5 parking fee. You will see the M/V Granite State at the dock. There is no need to print out your tickets. Your name(s) will be on a list and you will be checked in before the cruise.

In the event that the cruise has to be canceled due to the weather, we will make every effort to notify everyone as early as possible by email. A cancellation notice will also be posted on our website at portsmouthharborlighthouse.org and on our Facebook page. If a cruise has to be canceled due to weather or sea conditions, the purchase price will be refunded in full. Otherwise, cruise tickets are non-refundable.
