Event Details

Boston Comedy Legend Lenny Clarke–known for his raspy voice and thick Boston accent–has performed on the biggest comedy stages in the United States and made his mark nationally on television and movies. He was the most famous “saloon comic” in Boston during the 1980’s, the birth of the Boston comedy scene. As detailed in the documentary When Standup Stood Out (2006), Clarke worked Boston stages and also wrote and starred in a local television show Lenny Clarke’s Late Show featuring Steven Wright and Dennis Leary, in collaboration with Boston comedy writer Martin Olson. Clark and Olson were roommates, and their apartment, known by comedians as “The Barracks”, was a notorious ”crash pad” for comics visiting Boston, per the film.

In addition to all of that, he has performed in theatres, clubs, and benefits all over Boston and is a frequent guest on Boston radio such as WROR and WEEI and television stations in Boston (including Red Sox games), and nationally, such as Jimmy Kimmel Live.

Appearing with Lenny is Dave Rattigan, a Boston comedian with multiple credits. His CD has been played on SiriusXM Satellite Radio, he’s appeared on regional commercials, and written humorous columns for The Boston Globe, Christian Science Monitor, and North Shore Magazine. He’s performed on multiple comedy festivals including the Hampton Beach Comedy Festival, the Boston Comedy Festival and the Cat Laughs Comedy Festival in Kilkenny, Ireland.
