You are invited to join artist Richard Haynes on a colorful adventure! Come aboard and use your imagination to color the future world you would like to see for African Americans. On this journey, you may discover yet unseen aspects of your own identity and even question your sense of reality. Together, we will break out of our boxes to celebrate the beauty of humanity. We have the precious opportunity to actively shape the world around us and create a better future for all.

In this workshop, we will first view several YouTube videos as a foundation for sharing our own stories of past and current experiences as well as our hopes for the future. Next comes the opportunity to put crayon to paper to illustrate that future. Using one of Richard’s line drawings derived from his own life, you will paint between those lines. What colors will you choose to show the vibrancy of a healthier world?

Limited to 25 participants. Included in the workshop are all the artist materials and lunch.
