Our owls are on the move and making a hoot!
We have the chance to host an event with Floki, the magificant snowy owl - but because they need to be in wide open spaces, we're building a bonfire and headed back to the Meadow for a special, late-morning Owliday Brunch.
This fun event will introduce you not only to Floki the snowy owl, but an assortment of other native species up close and personal (in a covid conscious way).
This hour long program will connect the audience with these beautiful ambassadors of their species, provide insight on their amazing adaptations and empower audience members to help steward the environment that we all share.
Focusing on animals found in our local habitat, Jane Kelly and Sarah Kern from On The Wing will provide an in-depth introduction to the unique differences and similarities between different wild raptors, as well as their natural and personal histories.
Following the program, there will be a Q&A session.
This is not a youth program, but super family friendly and children are most welcome (and will surely be fascinated, inspired, and learn lots). Children under 10 are free, but are required to register given capacity limitations.
Each ticket includes a complimentary tea, coffee or hot cider! Ticket holders will also enjoy delicious complimentary baked good (limited to the first 40 purchases).
Please note that while these raptors are beautiful ambassadors for their species, they each have their own special needs, meaning that for their own well-being, they might not be up for making an appearance. While we have yet to have any no-shows by promised species, there is always that possibility - in which that case, another wonderful ambassador species would take their place.
Please be aware that this event is scheduled for outside. In the unlikely chance that it needs to be moved inside, proof of full vaxx and mandatory mask wearing is required at this time. Thank you!
