We are so excited to have the opportunity to share late summer gardens with the abundance that comes at the height of the growing season - annuals and vegetable gardens are bursting!
Why the change? Remember COVID? One good thing to come from it was having a tour in September. We had a wonderful time and thought we would mix up some years with a late summer tour. Portsmouth is a happening place year round so join us in September! Spread out the Portsmouth 400 celebration!
This year's tour is touts a lovely mix of 9 professional and amateur designed and maintained gardens, large and small await you in the Lafayette Park neighborhood (Middle, Aldrich, and Spinney). Also included are an urban nature preserve, historic insight into the neighborhoods connecting with Portsmouth 400, ample parking, and the return of garden educators including John Forti, author of The Heirloom Gardener: Traditional Plants and Skills for the Modern World.
Tickets go on sale in August.
Check back here or follow us on Facebook @PortsmouthPocketGardenTour for updates and ticket sale locations.
Presented by South Church UU of Portsmouth.
